Help your street, school, and circle take attention back

Mind Reclaim needs local people — not influencers. If you can host a short parent night, share a one-pager, or model phone-free meals with neighbours, you can help. We give you a kit, simple talking points, and a private group for support.

Small local talks. Plain language. No scare stories.

Why local people matter

One family alone has a hard job. Shared rules and shared understanding make limits feel normal — not weird. A neighbour or teacher who can explain how apps hold attention, in calm words, often helps more than another post in the feed.

We keep our own use of social media small. The website and newsletter are home. Volunteers extend that same habit: real conversations, offline first.

What you’ll do

Host or join a short talk

5, 15, or 40 minutes for parents, PTA, or a neighbour circle — at your pace.

Share the kit

One-pager, slides, and how-it-works sheet after you’re approved.

Model the norms

Phones away at meals, fewer alerts, sleep protected — kids copy what we do.

Send people here

Point to the website and newsletter — not deeper into short-form feeds.

You set the pace. One talk a season is enough to start.

We talk about two pressures: social feeds that hold attention, and default AI use that can take the practice of thinking and creating. Your local talks can cover either—or both.

FAQ

Do I need to be an expert?

No. You need curiosity, kindness, and willingness to use our talking points. We coach before your first talk.

How much time is this?

As little as one short talk a season, plus reading the kit. Monthly office hours are optional.

Will I get the PDFs right away?

We list the kit publicly. Full PDFs come after you apply and we welcome you — so the pack stays with people who agree to the guidelines.

Can I post about this on social media?

Lightly, and always point back to the website and newsletter. We do not grow by feeding the attention machine.

What if press contacts me?

Thank them and escalate to the founder. Don’t speak as official spokesperson unless agreed.

Is this anti-technology?

No. We care about design that captures children’s attention — and about building a fuller life offline.
